3 Simple UI Tips to Bring Your Brand to Life

One of the biggest hurdles to take on when you’re first starting your company is establishing your brand through designs and colors. It’s a very important step in the development process because it immediately allows your customers to get some first impressions of your work.

Take a look at your company right now and ask yourself, “What kind of emotions do I want my audience to feel when they see my site? Playfulness? Professionalism? Happiness?”

Once you have an idea of what values you want to be associated with your company, you’re ready to start establishing your brand!

But the question still remains: “How do you take the adjectives that customers associate with your company and bring them to life through digital design?”

It can be a lot easier said than done.

That’s why we are here to help you!

Here are 3 UI tips to guide you towards branding success:

  1. Keep it simple!

When it comes to showing off your work or ideas, sometimes less is more! Don’t overflow your UI with a mixture of different colors. Try to associate colors with certain functions: drawing attention, creating space, etc. This is especially important for our second tip…

  1. Keep all of your call to action buttons the same color.

A surprising amount of people will not read text when browsing through sites. So color is an amazing indicator to inform users of where they should look. Having the CTA be the same color assists the user in completing processes with less mental load, as they have started to associate that color with “Continue.”

  1. Figure out your brand colors/stay consistent with them!

Try to use complementary colors for your primary color and call to action color. (i.e. blue and orange). On the color wheel, the colors on opposite sides of one another are usually their complementary color and should be utilized to guide your users throughout your site. Consistency is very important in UI! For other secondary colors try to stick with the same primary color, but in different shades.

Developing a consistent, eye-catching brand can be one of the trickiest parts of starting a company -- but it is also one of the most important.

Follow these tips to ensure that someone coming to your site enters as a visitor, but leaves as a customer!
